Coach Core is an apprenticeship programme set up by The Royal Foundation, in partnership with established sports clubs, to provide young people with opportunities to become Sports Coaches. Nottingham was selected as one of the first launch cities for the programme, which provides training through placements at Team Nottingham, a partnership that comprises Nottingham Forest, Notts County, Trent Bridge, Nottingham Rugby, National Ice Centre and Epic Partners. The programme, which is in the process of being piloted, began in early 2016.
Through the programme, Epic employs 3 apprentices who take part our in-school and community-based sporting programmes, guided and mentored by experienced staff.
The programme complements the aims of the Full Effect programme Full Effect, also supported by the royals, which provides career opportunities and positive pathways for young people in the city.
